Angela Ashurst is a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW) and founder of Upword Resume, a premier career development service. Angela founded her business when she was a busy mom of five.

Fifteen years later, what began as a side gig during naptime and preschool has now become her main income as a single mother. Angela brings expertise in business processes, staff training, email strategy, and business partnerships. She is a firm believer that financial stability is a tool that empowers women and is key to making the world a better place. Angela loves being with her children and grandkids, reading and working on her debut novel.

Know Britt

Britt Larsen leverages her extensive executive experience to help people navigate career changes, from job hunting, to promotions, to starting their own business. She founded Livlyhood to share corporate women's stories and it's now a thriving career coaching business that allowed her to quit her corporate job and quickly replace her income. Britt's career began as the Director of Communications for both a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and the governor of Florida. She then moved into the private sector and led public affairs strategy for clients including Microsoft and Delta.

As the youngest and only female Vice President at her last firm, she led a reorg and hired more than 50% of the company. Britt's proudest title is "momma" and she loves being in the mountains with her husband and two young miracle boys.

Britt says:

I remember feeling overwhelmed by the Sunday scaries when I worked corporate jobs. For me, running my own business is about time freedom: the ability to spend the day swimming with my kids, going on vacation without asking for permission, or just taking the afternoon off. Every business owner eventually hits this crossroads: you’ve delivered your best… and the client still isn’t thrilled. 😬
Now what?

✨ Step 1: Focus on making it right. A rework, an extra deliverable, or a little above-and-beyond effort can go a long way in protecting your reputation.
✨ Step 2: If you’ve already tried that multiple times and nothing is changing, their expectations might be out of alignment (and that’s not something you can fix). It’s okay to professionally step back.
✨ Step 3: After the dust settles, check in with your process. Do you need clearer expectations, better communication, or stronger boundaries upfront?
✨ Remember: outlier clients exist. Don’t rebuild your whole business around someone who was never going to be happy in the first place.

One year ago, the Cheetah Collective was just an idea.
A “what if?” whispered between two friends who wanted to take their hard learned lessons and help others build something of their own.
